Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist - Chicora, PA

A long-term care contract pharmacist position is available in Chicora, PA, offering a 1-month assignment with the possibility of extension. This opportunity allows you to apply your specialized skills in a focused, collaborative environment supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various care facilities.
• Review blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations.
• Respond to inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians by providing clinical guidance.
• Count controlled substances and maintain accurate perpetual inventory documentation.
• Conduct checks of emergency medication boxes to ensure compliance and readiness.
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC for daily workflow.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
• Current registration and licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, fine motor activities, and visual assessments.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
