Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Chicora, PA

This position offers an opportunity to serve as a Long Term Care Pharmacist on a contract-to-hire basis, providing essential pharmaceutical services to skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice clients.

Responsibilities include:

• Verifying orders entered by data entry technicians to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Checking blister-packed medications, as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations.
• Responding to phone inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions effectively.
• Counting controlled substances and maintaining accurate perpetual inventory records.
• Reviewing and replenishing emergency medication boxes as needed.
• Utilizing operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC for documentation and workflow management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board.
• At least one year of pharmacy experience; prior experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Physical ability to perform job duties including sitting, standing, fine motor tasks, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Schedule:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Pharmacy operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
