Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Chicora, PA

A Long Term Care pharmacist opportunity is available for a contract assignment in Chicora, PA. This role supports skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients by ensuring accurate and safe medication dispensing and providing clinical guidance.

Schedule & Hours:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am 4:00 pm, Sunday 8:00 am 3:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and compliance
• Check blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile drugs
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical expertise
• Conduct controlled substance counts and maintain detailed perpetual inventory records
• Check emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness and compliance

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience, with long term care (LTC) experience preferred
• Strong fine motor skills, visual acuity, and physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Proficiency or ability to quickly learn pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC

This assignment is initially for one month with the potential for extension or an 8-week contract option, offering consistent weekly hours and meaningful work in a critical healthcare setting.
