Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Chicora, PA

A Long Term Care Pharmacist opportunity is available in Chicora, PA, offering a contract-to-hire position. This role demands a professional with a strong background in pharmacy operations tailored to skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice services. The ideal candidate will have experience using pharmacy systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify orders entered by data entry technicians.
• Check blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications to ensure accuracy.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical support.
• Perform controlled substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory documentation.
• Inspect emergency medication boxes regularly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
• Active Registered Pharmacist license in good standing within Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience, preferably in Long Term Care settings.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, use fine motor skills, maintain visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week.
• Monday to Friday: 8 AM 6 PM
• Saturday: 8 AM 4 PM
• Sunday: 8 AM 3 PM
