Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Chugiak, AK

A healthcare facility in Chugiak, AK, is seeking an experienced pharmacist for a per diem role supporting a behavioral health inpatient unit. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with additional on-call responsibilities during evenings and occasional weekends. The assignment spans 8 to 13 weeks with potential for extension and includes a two-day orientation prior to starting. Full travel and housing accommodations are provided.

In this role, you will manage and oversee medication order entry and conduct thorough checks using Omnicell automation systems. Drug monitoring and ensuring safe pharmacological practices within an acute care or behavioral health setting are central to your responsibilities. Familiarity with HCS order entry systems will support your workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter medication orders accurately using HCS system
• Perform checks and oversee inventory with Omnicell automation technology
• Monitor patient drug therapies for safety and efficacy in an inpatient behavioral health environment
• Respond to on-call situations during evenings and weekends as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Alaska Pharmacist license and registration (Alaska RPh Permit) required
• Experience in acute care or behavioral health pharmacy practice essential
• Prior use of Omnicell preferred
