Inpatient Oncology Staff Pharmacist - Cicero, Illinois
This position offers an opportunity to work as a Clinical Hospital Staff Pharmacist in an inpatient hospital environment, providing critical pharmaceutical care to patients. The role involves working on a rotating schedule covering first and second shifts, ensuring comprehensive medication management across shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispensing and verifying medications for inpatient care with accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy, particularly in oncology cases.
- Utilizing the Cerner electronic health record system for prescription management.
- Participating in rotating weekend shifts as part of the clinical team.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Illinois pharmacy license.
- Strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience is highly desired.
- Oncology pharmacy experience preferred to support specialized patient populations.
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is a plus.
Schedule:
- Rotating first shift (7:00 AM 3:30 PM) and second shift (2:30 PM 10:00 PM).
- Rotating weekend shifts.
- Initial 13-week contract with potential for extension.
Working in this fast-paced inpatient setting requires excellent clinical knowledge and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in Cerner will enhance workflow and patient care coordination.
