Staff Pharmacist in Cicero, IL
A Pharmacy professional is needed to support warehouse operations for a six-month contract assignment in Cicero, IL. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., providing a consistent workweek and the opportunity to apply pharmacy expertise in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty items.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and reduce waste through efficient stock control.
- Ensure compliance with USP standards and state and federal regulations regarding medication storage.
- Verify medication orders prior to preparation or shipment.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians responsible for inventory, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Coordinate with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians to maintain adequate supplies for patient orders.
- Review controlled substance inventory and maintain accurate documentation.
- Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits to uphold operational standards.
- Collaborate with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams to guarantee timely medication delivery.
- Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems for tracking and reporting.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license.
- Some knowledge or experience with IV medication preparation and handling.
- Strong inventory management skills and familiarity with regulatory compliance.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate pharmacy technical staff.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software systems.
