Consulting Managed Care Staff Pharmacist | Denham Springs, Louisiana
A telehealth opportunity for pharmacists with multi-state licensure to support a 13-week Medication Therapy Management (MTM) consulting project beginning in October. This remote role focuses on delivering virtual clinical pharmacy services within a growing telepharmacy environment currently serving Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas with plans to expand to 3040 states.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews (CMRs) and targeted medication reviews (TMRs) via telephone or video to optimize patient medication regimens.
- Address side effects, provide therapy counseling, and encourage medication adherence.
- Evaluate prior authorization requests and formulary exceptions against clinical guidelines to support utilization management.
- Collaborate with prescribers through secure communications to recommend formulary-aligned, cost-effective alternatives.
- Identify and engage members with gaps in care and work with providers to ensure appropriate therapy.
- Assist in formulary support by translating clinical intent into codeable rules and reviewing claims data.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, telepharmacy regulations, and client contractual requirements through accurate documentation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in multiple states (minimum of 5 licenses preferred), including Louisiana for hub work.
- At least 2 years clinical pharmacy experience, ideally within PBM, managed care, or telehealth settings.
- Strong knowledge in chronic disease management, drug utilization review, and formulary navigation.
- Proficiency in telehealth technologies, electronic health records, and PBM claims systems.
- Excellent communication skills enabling sensitive patient interactions and professional provider collaboration.
Location:
- Fully remote position with telehealth services. Louisiana licensure increases full-time work opportunities. Candidate must be licensed in multiple states from the provided list including Indiana, North Carolina, Illinois, New Jersey, Iowa, and others.
This 13-week contract starts in October with onboarding surges from November through early the following year, accommodating schedules for surge coverage. Candidates with extensive multi-state licensure will have enhanced opportunities for ongoing assignments and potential permanent roles.
