Inpatient Hospital Staff Pharmacist in Denham Springs, LA

This opportunity is for a skilled pharmacist to support inpatient hospital care with expertise in medication management and patient safety. The role focuses on delivering exceptional pharmaceutical services in an inpatient environment with a census of approximately 60 to 70 active beds within a 131-bed hospital setting.

Location: Denham Springs, LA
Schedule:

• 2nd Shift: 12:30 PM 9:00 PM
• Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends
• Duration: 13 weeks with potential for extension or direct hire
• Multiple openings available (3 to 4 positions)

Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify medications accurately for inpatient populations
• Utilize the Epic electronic health record system for order entry and documentation
• Operate and oversee medication automation technology with Pyxis, providing efficient distribution of pharmaceuticals
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes
• Monitor patient medication regimens for safety and efficacy in a fast-paced hospital setting

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active Louisiana pharmacy license required
• Experienced in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication automation is preferred; training available for qualified candidates
• Experience with Epic electronic health records is advantageous; training provided
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
