Inpatient Hospital Staff Pharmacist - Denham Springs, LA

This position offers an opportunity for a pharmacist to work in an inpatient hospital setting with a census of approximately 131 beds and 60 to 70 active beds. The role involves rotating shifts between first and second shifts, with hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including rotating weekends. The position is a 13-week contract to hire, providing a path to permanent employment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmacy services in an inpatient hospital environment
• Accurately dispense medications and manage prescriptions using Epic order entry system
• Utilize Pyxis automation for medication dispensing and inventory management
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure appropriate medication use and patient safety
• Support pharmacy operations during assigned shifts, including weekends on a rotating basis

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist in the state of Louisiana
• Experience working in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting is required
• Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy operations and medication distribution
• Pyxis experience is a plus; training provided if needed
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is beneficial; training provided if needed
• Ability to work flexible shifts including rotation between first and second shifts and weekends
