Mail Order Staff Pharmacist | Edison, California

A full-time temporary assignment is available for a California-licensed Pharmacist in Bakersfield, CA, through July 2026. This role offers a consistent MondayFriday schedule (8:15 AM5:15 PM) with no weekend shifts, ideal for pharmacists interested in a steady workweek and broadening their pharmacy expertise into compounding practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform final verification of prescriptions to ensure accuracy and safety
• Support prescription filling, labeling, and prepackaging processes
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding orders, clarifications, and refills
• Counsel patients on medication usage and address their questions
• Assist in pharmacy workflow and contribute to daily operations
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy standards and regulatory guidelines
• For compounding pharmacists: oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding following USP 795, 797, 800, and Board of Pharmacy regulations

Qualifications:

• Active California Pharmacist license in good standing
• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
• Retail pharmacy experience is preferred; compounding experience is a plus but not required for dispensing-focused candidates
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to a compounding pharmacy setting if primarily retail experienced
