Staff Pharmacist | Elgin, Illinois

A pharmaceutical distribution warehouse is seeking two temporary pharmacists for a 13-week contract assignment in Elgin, IL. These positions provide critical support in medication management and inventory oversight within a high-volume warehouse environment.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty drugs.
• Manage inventory levels by ordering medications and supplies, minimizing waste and expired products.
• Ensure proper storage conditions in compliance with USP standards and state/federal regulations.
• Verify medication orders prior to preparation or shipment.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians engaged in inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Collaborate with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians to maintain availability of medications and supplies.
• Monitor controlled substance inventory and maintain accurate documentation.
• Conduct cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits.
• Coordinate with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams for timely delivery of medications.
• Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems for tracking.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license.
• Some knowledge of intravenous (IV) medications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience supervising pharmacy technicians preferred.
• Familiarity with pharmacy inventory management systems.
