Hospital Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist - Elizabeth, NJ
This role offers an opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic home infusion environment. The position is a 10-week contract, scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional extended hours until 7:00 PM based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform final checks, lab reviews, documentation, and other pharmacist duties; prescription processing will not be required.
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and legally.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and detect patterns of overuse.
- Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and compliant with regulations.
- Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files meticulously.
- Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions.
- Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage and drug interactions.
- Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
- Identify drug-related problems and collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Active New Jersey pharmacy license.
- Experience in home infusion or hospital pharmacy settings.
- Sterile compounding experience is highly desirable.
