Inpatient Hospital Staff Pharmacist - Gallup, New Mexico

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with inpatient hospital experience looking to work within a critical access hospital setting. You will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in a 25-bed facility utilizing Cerner for order entry and Pyxis for automation. The role emphasizes inpatient pharmacy responsibilities, including sterile compounding or the potential to become involved in sterile compounding duties.

Position Details:

• Location: Gallup, NM
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am 4:00 pm
• Duration: 13-week contract with the possibility of extension
• Environment: Critical Access Hospital with a small, dedicated team including 1 Director of Pharmacy, 2 pharmacists, and 2 technicians
• Site Specialty: Critical access hospital care

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage inpatient medication orders accurately and efficiently using the Cerner system
• Perform or support sterile compounding tasks in line with facility protocols
• Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Potential involvement in on-call duties for after-hours support

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active New Mexico pharmacist license required
• Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in a critical access or similar setting
• Experience with sterile compounding techniques essential
• Comfortable working in a small team environment
• Willingness and ability to travel; accessible airports nearby include Farmington, Albuquerque, and Phoenix
