LTC Mail Order Staff Pharmacist - Grand Prairie, Texas

This pharmacy role offers a unique opportunity to work a 2nd shift (3:30 pm 12:00 am) in a Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order environment for an initial 8-week contract with the potential for direct hire. The setting demands a detail-oriented pharmacist adept at managing both prescription processing and patient care consultation.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept, prepare, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal guidelines.
• Monitor patient medication usage to identify compliance issues and overuse patterns.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and accurate records of patient and pharmacy files.
• Provide expert advice to patients on medication usage, side effects, drug interactions, and proper handling of medical devices.
• Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following standard protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy personnel such as technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain proper inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses to resolve drug-related problems.
• Front-end and backend pharmacist verification responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• PharmD degree and current Texas Pharmacy License.
• IV Certification required.
• Proven ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong IT troubleshooting skills for pharmacy-related software and systems.
• Experience with LTC and Mail Order pharmacy operations preferred.
• Self-directed with excellent organizational skills.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 3:30 pm to 12:00 am shift with rotating weekends.
