Mail Order Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Greenville, NC
This opportunity is designed for a skilled pharmacist with experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy services. The role involves working primarily during the day, with shifts from 9am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, including some Saturdays, over a 15-week period. There is potential to transition into a direct hire position after the contract.

- Some Saturdays, 9am - 6pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and flag any concerns regarding overuse.
- Ensure prescriptions are appropriate and safe for patients.
- Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Provide thorough medication counseling, including usage instructions, potential reactions, and drug interactions.
- Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications for both internal and external applications, including preparing sterile solutions according to proper protocols.
- Oversee pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
- Maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories at appropriate levels.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address patient medication-related issues.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist in North Carolina.
- Proven pharmacy experience, with long-term care pharmacy background considered a strong advantage.
