This full-time pharmacist role offers a unique opportunity to serve both retail and inpatient pharmacy settings in Harbor Beach, MI. You will spend approximately 70% of your time working in the retail pharmacy and 30% in the hospital inpatient pharmacy, with both locations conveniently located just a block apart. The position provides a balanced workweek with four 10-hour shifts from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, including one weekday off and rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, codes, and standards within both retail and inpatient settings
  • Review and verify medication orders from physicians or authorized prescribers for accuracy, potential allergies, and drug interactions
  • Prepare intravenous admixtures following standard formulas and processes
  • Provide accurate medication information and counsel to patients and healthcare staff
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional ethics
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment while also managing tasks independently

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Valid pharmacist license to practice in the State of Michigan
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy preferred; candidates open to learning this area are encouraged to apply
  • Proficient with pharmacy software; current systems include Pioneer RX for retail and CPSI for the hospital, with an upcoming transition to EPIC

Additional Details:

  • Rx volume averages 250 prescriptions per day and 1300 per week, including servicing local adult foster care homes and long-term care facilities
