Staff Pharmacist in Itasca, IL
Support critical pharmaceutical operations in a dynamic warehouse environment as a Pharmacist for a 13-week contract. This role offers the opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise to ensure the accurate and compliant handling of medications, supporting efficient distribution and patient care.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee receipt, proper storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty pharmaceuticals.
- Manage inventory levels by ordering medications and supplies, reducing waste, and preventing expired products.
- Ensure storage conditions comply with USP standards and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Verify accuracy of medication orders prior to preparation and shipment.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping tasks.
- Collaborate with sterile compounding staff to maintain medication and supply availability for patient orders.
- Review controlled substance inventories and maintain required documentation meticulously.
- Conduct cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and quality assurance audits.
- Work closely with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams to facilitate timely medication delivery.
- Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems to track medications and supplies efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Active and clear Illinois Pharmacist license is required.
- Familiarity with IV medications and sterile compounding preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy inventory management and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work accurately within a fast-paced warehouse setting.
