Staff Pharmacist - Itasca, Illinois
A pharmacy professional is needed to support warehouse operations in a six-month contract role based in Itasca, IL. This position requires oversight of medication receipt, storage, and distribution, ensuring all processes meet regulatory standards and support patient care needs efficiently.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty items.
- Manage inventory levels by ordering medications and supplies, reducing waste and expiration.
- Maintain compliance with USP standards and state/federal regulations regarding proper storage.
- Verify medication orders prior to preparation and shipment.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping tasks.
- Coordinate with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians to ensure availability of medications and supplies.
- Review controlled substance inventory and maintain thorough documentation.
- Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams to ensure timely medication delivery.
- Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems to track medications and supplies accurately.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear Illinois Pharmacist License.
- Some knowledge and experience with IV medication.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians effectively.
- Familiarity with inventory management and quality assurance in a pharmacy setting.
This is a six-month contract opportunity offering a competitive pay range of $60 to $62 per hour.
