Home Infusion IV Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist | Jersey City, New Jersey

A 10-week contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacist specializing in home infusion pharmacy services. This role focuses on ensuring the safe and effective dispensing and management of medications in a home infusion environment.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (with potential extension to 7:00 PM based on business needs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform final medication checks, lab reviews, and maintain accurate documentation; processing prescriptions as needed
• Accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal requirements
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage
• Confirm that prescribed medicines are appropriate and counsel patients on usage, possible side effects, and drug interactions
• Maintain confidential patient records and properly manage pharmacy files
• Provide patient services such as smoking cessation assistance, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications for internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions in accordance with protocols
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks, maintaining inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• Licensed Pharmacist in New Jersey
• Experience in home infusion or hospital pharmacy settings
• Sterile compounding experience highly desirable
