Retail IV Compounding Staff Pharmacist | Kernersville, North Carolina

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Staff Pharmacist to support their compounding operations with a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment focusing on both sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques, providing a valuable experience for pharmacists looking to expand their expertise.

Location: Kernersville, NC
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Duration: 13 weeks contract with potential for direct hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense prescription medications and perform order entry using PK software (training provided)
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded preparations following established protocols and safety standards
• Counsel patients on medication usage and proper handling, ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations
• Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to quality control measures in both retail and compounding practices
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff to optimize workflow and patient care outcomes

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• North Carolina Pharmacy License (required)
• Minimum of 1-2 years of pharmacy experience in a retail or compounding setting
• Proficiency or experience in sterile compounding is highly advantageous
• Experience with non-sterile compounding is a plus
• Familiarity with pharmacy software, specifically order entry systems, preferred; training available
