IV Sterile Compounding Inpatient Staff Pharmacist - Kernersville, North Carolina

This role offers a dynamic opportunity to apply clinical expertise as a pharmacist within a hospital setting, supporting inpatient medication management and patient care. The position involves 1st and 2nd shift rotations over 13 weeks, with the potential to transition from contract to permanent employment.

Location: Kernersville, NC
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, rotating schedules over a 6-week cycle
• Shifts: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM and 1:30 PM 10:00 PM
• Rotates every 4th weekend

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote optimal medication therapies by utilizing drug dosing protocols and reviewing lab results
• Interpret and verify medication orders tailored to individual patient needs
• Prepare and dispense medications efficiently following established standards and policies
• Supervise pharmacy technicians in all pharmacy-related activities
• Document clinical care through progress notes and pharmacy handoffs daily
• Provide medication-related information to healthcare professionals, patients, and the public
• Support hospitalist teams with transitions of care and medication management

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with Epic EHR, including order entry and dispense preparation
• Familiarity with Omnicell dispensing technology and automation
• Strong critical clinical pharmacy thinking and decision-making skills

Qualifications:

• PharmD degree required, with postgraduate training preferred
• Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) is a plus
• Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience with strong clinical skills
• Active North Carolina pharmacy license required
