LTC Staff Pharmacist | Kittanning, Pennsylvania
This opportunity seeks a knowledgeable Long Term Care pharmacist to support medication management services for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients. The role primarily involves verifying orders, checking packaged blister medications, and sterile/non-sterile preparations, as well as providing clinical support to nursing and medical personnel.
Location: Kittanning, PA
Assignment: 1-month contract with potential extension
Hours: 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday: 8am 6pm
- Saturday: 8am 4pm
- Sunday: 8am 3pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and compliance
- Inspect blister-packed and compounded medications, both sterile and non-sterile
- Address clinical inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians promptly and professionally
- Count controlled substances and maintain accurate perpetual inventory records
- Check emergency medication boxes to ensure availability and proper stock levels
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
- Active and in-good-standing pharmacist license for Pennsylvania
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; prior Long Term Care pharmacy experience is preferred
- Proficient with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems
- Ability to perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, fine motor skills, and visual acuity
- Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds
