LTC Staff Pharmacist - Kittanning, Pennsylvania

This long-term care contract pharmacist role requires a detail-oriented professional to support medication management for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice services. The position offers a 1-month ongoing assignment with the potential for extension, providing consistent full-time hours in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various long-term care facilities
• Verify accuracy of blister-packed medications, sterile and non-sterile medications
• Respond to inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians regarding clinical questions
• Count controlled substances and maintain documentation in the perpetual inventory
• Check emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness and compliance

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
• Current pharmacist license in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; long-term care experience preferred
• Ability to sit, stand, and perform fine motor tasks with excellent visual acuity
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds
