Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Kittanning, PA
This opportunity seeks a licensed pharmacist to support long-term care operations through a contract assignment in Kittanning, PA. The role involves oversight of medication dispensing processes and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective pharmaceutical care for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice settings.
Responsibilities include verifying prescription orders entered by data entry technicians, checking blister-packed and sterile/non-sterile medications, and answering clinical questions from nursing staff and physicians. The pharmacist will also manage controlled substances inventory and emergency medication boxes, maintaining thorough documentation and adherence to regulatory standards. The assignment requires proficiency with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy systems.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in pharmacy
- Current pharmacist license in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania
- Minimum of one year of pharmacist experience; prior experience in long-term care preferred
- Ability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, and maintain visual acuity necessary for medication verification
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
This contract is initially for one month with potential extension, and an 8-week contract will also be considered.
