Mail Order Staff Pharmacist - Lamont, CA

A full-time Pharmacist opportunity awaits in Bakersfield, CA, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (8:15 AM 5:15 PM) with no weekend shifts. This assignment runs through July 2026, providing stability for professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in retail and compounding pharmacy environments.

This role is ideal for a California-licensed pharmacist comfortable with dispensing, prescription verification, filling, labeling, and patient/provider communication. While compounding experience is preferred, its not mandatory for those primarily focused on retail dispensing and open to learning new pharmacy practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform final verification of prescriptions ensuring accuracy and safety
• Support prescription filling, labeling, and prepackaging tasks
• Communicate with providers to clarify new orders and refills
• Counsel patients and address medication-related inquiries
• Assist with pharmacy workflow and daily operations
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy standards and regulatory guidelines
• For compounding pharmacists: oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding processes following USP 795, 797, 800, and Board of Pharmacy regulations

Qualifications:

• Active California Pharmacist License in good standing
• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy
• Experience in retail pharmacy strongly considered
• Compounding experience is a plus but not required for retail dispensing role
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
