Per Diem Long Term Care Mail Order Staff Pharmacist in Lansdale, PA

A Per Diem Staff Pharmacist position is available for an 8-week contract in Lansdale, PA, supporting a Long Term Care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy environment. This role offers a weekday schedule with hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, including every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and detect over-usage patterns.
• Maintain confidentiality by properly managing patient records and pharmacy files.
• Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, and respond to medication-related inquiries.
• Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver specialized patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on correct use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for both internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions adhering to established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
• Oversee pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory management.
• Identify drug-related patient issues and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania.
• Previous pharmacy experience required.
• Experience in Long Term Care or Mail Order pharmacy is highly desirable.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
• Every other weekend shift required
