Per Diem Mail Order Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist - Levittown, PA

A healthcare facility in Levittown, PA is seeking a Per Diem Staff Pharmacist to support their Long Term Care (LTC) mail order pharmacy operations. This 8-week contract opportunity offers daytime hours with a structured schedule and the chance to contribute to high-quality patient care in a specialized environment.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards
• Monitor patient medication compliance, detecting over-usage patterns and addressing concerns
• Ensure prescribed medications are suitable and maintain strict confidentiality of patient records
• Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, and answer questions to promote informed care
• Provide consultation on non-prescription drugs, storage, dosage, and possible drug interactions
• Deliver patient services including smoking cessation coaching, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on proper usage and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions adhering to protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain workflow and quality standards
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory to ensure availability and compliance
• Identify drug-related problems and collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare practitioners

Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania
• Proven pharmacy experience, with a preference for LTC and mail order pharmacy familiarity
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
