Long Term Care Mail Order Staff Pharmacist in Milwaukee, WI
A professional opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist with pharmacy experience, preferably including long-term care (LTC), to support an LTC Mail Order environment. This contract-to-hire position offers the chance to apply your pharmacy expertise while working the 2nd shift.
Key Details:
- Location: Milwaukee, WI
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm 9:30 pm; some Saturdays required
- Duration: 8 weeks contract

Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with regulations
- Monitor patient medication adherence and prevent over-usage
- Ensure medication supply and prescriptions comply with legal and safety standards
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision
- Advise and educate patients about their medications, including usage instructions and potential side effects
- Counsel patients on prescription and non-prescription drugs, addressing drug interactions and proper storage
- Provide additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on correct handling of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
- Compound medications for internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions as needed
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
- Maintain adequate inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers
Qualifications:
- Active Wisconsin pharmacy license is required
- Prior pharmacy experience is essential
- Experience in long-term care settings is preferred
