This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy settings. The role operates during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend coverage, offering a balanced workweek in a supportive healthcare environment.

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Type: Contract to Hire (13 weeks)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
• One weekend shift per month

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and usage patterns to promote safe and effective therapy.
• Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy documentation efficiently.
• Provide thorough medication counseling, discussing proper usage, potential side effects, and answering patient inquiries.
• Offer patient services including smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications, including sterile preparations, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, fostering an efficient team environment.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories to ensure availability and compliance.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues, enhancing patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Active Wisconsin pharmacy license required.
• Proven pharmacy experience, with long-term care experience considered a strong asset.
• Competency in sterile compounding procedures.
