Join a growing pharmacy team focused on Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order services, seeking two experienced pharmacists for a second shift contract opportunity. This position offers a blend of patient interaction, medication management, and staff supervision within a regulated healthcare environment.
Location: New Berlin, WI
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift (1:00 PM 9:30 PM), Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays
Duration: 8 weeks
Environment: Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order Pharmacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications following legal requirements.
- Monitor patients medication compliance, identifying over-usage patterns.
- Ensure prescribed medications meet safety and suitability standards.
- Maintain confidential clinical records and pharmacy files with precision.
- Provide medication counseling covering usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Deliver patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure screening, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medication formulations adhering to protocol.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure efficient workflow.
- Manage inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to resolve drug-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Wisconsin.
- Proven pharmacy experience; Long Term Care (LTC) experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work the specified 2nd shift hours and occasional Saturdays.
