Per Diem Pharmacist in New Port Richey, FL

This position offers the opportunity to provide critical pharmacy services in a retail setting with flexible, ongoing per diem hours primarily focused on the first Friday of each month, along with other scheduled dates. The role involves verifying prescriptions, counseling patients, and supervising pharmacy technicians in an engaging work environment.

Location: Safety Harbor, FL

Schedule:

• First Friday of every month from 9:00 AM 12:00 PM (ongoing long-term coverage)
• Additional confirmed shifts including:
  • June 5: 8:30 AM 12:00 PM (includes a 30-minute training)
  • June 30: 10:00 AM 2:00 PM
  • July 1: 8:30 AM 12:00 PM
  • July 7 & July 8: 10:00 AM 2:00 PM
• Occasional Saturdays 9:00 AM 12:00 PM as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately verify prescriptions ensuring safety and compliance
• Provide patient counseling to promote safe medication use
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency
• Manage prescription volumes between 4050 scripts daily, with peaks up to 100 scripts

Qualifications:

• Active Florida Pharmacist license required
• New graduates are welcome to apply
• Ability to work independently as the sole pharmacist on shift
• Experience with Pioneer Rx pharmacy software preferred
• Familiarity with nonsterile compounding is a plus (no compounding duties required)
