Staff Pharmacist - Newport News, VA

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to work second shift in a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy environment located in Newport News, VA. This role offers the chance to engage in both medication verification and dispensing duties in a supportive setting, with training provided on the proprietary Frameworks software system.

Location:

• Newport News, VA

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm 11:30 pm
• Rotating weekends required

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform PV1 and PV2 verifications to ensure accurate prescription processing
• Fill medications accurately and efficiently to meet patient needs
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy standards and state regulations
• Work effectively within the LTC pharmacy environment to support high-volume prescription management (approximately 600 prescriptions per day)
• Collaborate with pharmacy team members and healthcare providers to optimize patient care

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active and clear VA Pharmacist license required
• Recent pharmacy experience preferred to ensure familiarity with current practices
• LTC pharmacy experience is an advantage but not mandatory
