Inpatient Pharmacist Williamsburg, Virginia

RPh on the Go is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacist for a short-term contract assignment at an inpatient behavioral health hospital in Williamsburg, Virginia. This opportunity will provide temporary pharmacy coverage during a leave of absence, with an ASAP start.

The pharmacist will support daily pharmacy operations, including electronic medication order verification, medication pre-packaging, and filling the Omnicell automated dispensing system. Candidates with prior hospital or inpatient pharmacy experience are preferred, though pharmacists who are willing to learn may also be considered.

Position Details:

• Location: Williamsburg, VA
• Pharmacy Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital
• Assignment Type: Contract
• Assignment Duration: 48 weeks (potential for extension)

• Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM4:30 PM
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Schedule Flexibility: Some flexibility available

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders electronically for accuracy and appropriateness
• Prepare and pre-package medications as needed
• Fill and maintain the Omnicell automated dispensing system
• Support daily inpatient pharmacy operations and medication distribution
• Follow established pharmacy policies, procedures, and medication safety standards
• Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to support safe and efficient medication management

Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Pharmacist license in good standing
• Previous hospital or inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• Pharmacists willing to learn and adapt to an inpatient setting will be considered
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
• Ability to work independently and manage daily pharmacy responsibilities
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
