Per Diem Mail Order Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Norristown, PA

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a Long Term Care (LTC) mail order pharmacy setting. This per diem position offers an 8-week contract assignment with a consistent day schedule, providing a strong foundation for work-life balance.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
• Every other weekend shift required

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and professional standards
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage
• Ensure all medications are appropriate and safely managed for patient use
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records
• Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and answer their questions effectively
• Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage and drug interactions
• Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring
• Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures
• Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks, ensuring high standards of practice
• Manage pharmacy inventory and pharmaceutical supplies
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare practitioners to address drug-related patient issues

Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania
• Experience working in pharmacy settings, with Long Term Care and mail order experience highly valued
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care
