Staff Pharmacist | Ontario, California
A specialty/mail order pharmacy in Ontario, CA, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist for a full-time, temp-to-hire assignment lasting 13+ weeks. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekends off, supporting a balanced work-life routine in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill prescriptions following practitioner instructions to ensure patient safety.
- Conduct clinical drug screenings to prevent adverse drug interactions.
- Counsel patients regarding medication use, side effects, and safety.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, students/interns, and support staff to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with patients and clinical personnel.
- Ensure accuracy in billing documentation and manage inventory control records.
- Support timely and safe medication fulfillment and delivery.
- Participate in facilitating new business initiatives and service delivery enhancements.
- Assist in annual pharmacy budget projections and manage operational budgets within established guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Current, active California Pharmacist license with a clean disciplinary record.
- Preferred experience in specialty, mail order, retail, or ambulatory pharmacy settings.
- At least one year of retail or ambulatory pharmacy experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- High attention to detail and capability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Analytical skills to ensure safe medication dispensing and operational efficiency.
