Inpatient Oncology Pharmacist in Orland Park, IL

This opportunity is for a Clinical Hospital Staff Pharmacist with a focus on inpatient care and oncology. The position offers a 13-week contract with potential extension, providing experience in a dynamic hospital environment. The role involves rotating between first and second shifts, including weekends, enabling hands-on involvement in clinical pharmacy services using advanced systems.

Location:

• Orland Park, Illinois

Schedule/Hours:

• Rotating first shift: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
• Rotating second shift: 2:30 PM 10:00 PM
• Rotating weekends included

Responsibilities:

• Dispense and review medications in an inpatient hospital setting
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy for hospitalized patients
• Provide clinical support with emphasis on oncology and other specialized treatments
• Utilize Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system for medication management and documentation
• Monitor patient responses and adjust medications accordingly
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide drug information to staff

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Illinois pharmacy license required
• Strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Oncology pharmacy background highly desirable
• Experience with Cerner EHR system is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge
