Inpatient Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist in Owasso, OK

A healthcare facility in Owasso, OK, is seeking a Staff Pharmacist with expertise in sterile compounding for a contract-to-hire role lasting approximately 13 weeks. This position operates within a home infusion environment, supporting patient care with precision and professionalism. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and usage to ensure legal supply.
• Verify that prescribed medications are suitable for each patient.
• Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files.
• Provide counseling to patients regarding proper medication use, side effects, and possible drug interactions.
• Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the use and maintenance of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound sterile medications following established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Manage inventory for pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address drug-related issues.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
• Valid Oklahoma pharmacy license.
• Experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy.
• Sterile compounding experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
