Inpatient Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist in Owasso, OK
A healthcare facility in Owasso, OK, is seeking a Staff Pharmacist with expertise in sterile compounding for a contract-to-hire role lasting approximately 13 weeks. This position operates within a home infusion environment, supporting patient care with precision and professionalism. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and usage to ensure legal supply.
- Verify that prescribed medications are suitable for each patient.
- Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files.
- Provide counseling to patients regarding proper medication use, side effects, and possible drug interactions.
- Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the use and maintenance of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound sterile medications following established protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
- Manage inventory for pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address drug-related issues.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Valid Oklahoma pharmacy license.
- Experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy.
- Sterile compounding experience preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
