Job Type: Contract (13+ weeks)
Schedule:

  • 4 days per week
  • 10-hour shifts
  • Variable shift times including days, nights, swing shifts, and weekends

Role Overview:
This position involves leadership and supervisory responsibilities, overseeing pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards. You will be managing administrative functions, developing quality improvement systems, and supervising pharmacy staff to optimize performance. The role also includes managing purchasing and inventory, implementing and evaluating medication dispensing systems, and supporting continuous professional development within the pharmacy team.

Pharmacy systems used include ScriptPro with SP200 Robot, RPMS Electronic Health Record, with an upcoming transition to a new EHR system.

Essential Duties:

  • Direct and manage daily pharmacy operations with focus on quality and compliance
  • Develop and monitor operational and financial measures tied to organizational goals
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures, ensuring continuous process improvement
  • Supervise and develop staff performance, providing timely feedback and professional growth opportunities
  • Manage purchasing and inventory to ensure cost-effective, timely pharmaceutical availability
  • Oversee and enhance computerized dispensing and data management systems
  • Participate in education and quality assurance programs to maintain competencies
  • Prepare monthly operational reports highlighting improvements and concerns

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of professional pharmacy experience with at least two years in management
  • Bachelors degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred, with one-year residency advantageous
  • Current, active, unrestricted Pharmacy license; Arizona licensure preferred
  • ACLS and PALS certification required (PALS can be obtained on-site within first month)
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening

This role includes a mix of inpatient/ER pharmacist duties (requiring ACLS/PALS) and outpatient pharmacy services, where two outpatient pharmacist positions and one inpatient/ER role are available.
