Pharmacist in Port Hope, MI

This full-time pharmacist opportunity offers a unique blend of retail and inpatient pharmacy practice in close proximity, providing a dynamic and varied work environment. The position is based in Harbor Beach, MI, with responsibilities divided approximately 70% in retail pharmacy and 30% in the hospital inpatient pharmacy.

Schedule:

• Four days per week, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
• One weekday off plus rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy policies, procedures, codes, and standards
• Review medication orders from physicians and authorized prescribers for accuracy, allergies, and drug interactions
• Prepare intravenous admixtures following standard formulas and protocols
• Provide accurate information and respond to inquiries from staff and patients
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and organizational information

Software Experience:

• Pioneer RX (retail)
• CPSI (hospital), with a transition to EPIC planned in November

Workload:

• Dispenses approximately 250 prescriptions daily, including servicing adult foster care homes and a local long-term care facility

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy
• Licensed pharmacist in the State of Michigan
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred or a strong willingness to learn inpatient pharmacy operations
