Per Diem Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist | Raleigh, North Carolina
This per diem opportunity seeks a skilled pharmacist to provide expert coverage in a home infusion pharmacy setting. The role is essential in ensuring the safe preparation and distribution of sterile pharmaceutical products delivered directly to patients. Operating Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, from July 29 through August 5, this position offers a focused schedule ideal for professionals seeking flexible work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify pharmaceutical products and drugs entering the clean room for sterile compounding, adhering to batch record specifications.
- Conduct final checks on compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) including labels, fill amounts, and drug accuracy.
- Inspect outgoing shipments to patients, ensuring all medications and medical supplies are accurate as per delivery tickets.
- Communicate effectively with physicians offices, field nurses, and patients regarding drug regimens, inventory status, adverse reactions, and abnormal lab results.
- Proactively contact patients to discuss medication deliveries, inventory compliance, and usage issues, escalating concerns to management.
- Manage incoming calls from medical offices, nursing agencies, and patients related to pharmaceutical care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy or Master of Science in Pharmacy preferred.
- Current registered pharmacist license in North Carolina.
- Minimum of two years recent experience in an acute-care environment or one year in home infusion therapy.
- Demonstrated expertise in intravenous admixture and therapy.
- Proficiency in CPR+ software is mandatory.
