Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist in Rockford, IL

This per diem opportunity is ideal for an experienced Staff Pharmacist seeking to contribute to an ambulatory outpatient retail environment. The role involves managing a daily prescription volume of 200-250 during weekdays and around 100 on weekends, primarily within a fast-paced setting that supports patient health and medication safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense medications and verify prescription orders with high attention to detail.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and answer any medication-related questions.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify or resolve prescription issues.
• Maintain compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
• Utilize Epic Willow for order entry; training will be provided if needed.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Illinois pharmacist license.
• Proven retail pharmacy experience.
• Familiarity with Epic Willow is advantageous but not required as training is available.
• Strong communication skills and ability to operate efficiently in a high-volume environment.

Schedule and Location:

• Position located in Rockford, IL.
• Workdays are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Possible Saturday shifts if needed.
• Contract duration: 6 weeks.
