Staff Pharmacist in San Carlos, AZ
A contract opportunity is available for experienced pharmacists offering a blend of inpatient, emergency room, and outpatient pharmacy experience. This position is based in the San Carlos, AZ area and spans a minimum duration of 13 weeks, with potential for extension. Candidates can expect variable shifts, including days, nights, swing, and weekend rotations, working 4 days per week at 10 hours each shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
- Develop and monitor operational and financial outcome measures integrated into a quality improvement system.
- Implement and evaluate department policies and continuous process improvements.
- Manage and mentor pharmacy staff, providing performance feedback and fostering professional growth.
- Direct computer-based information and dispensing systems to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Supervise purchasing and inventory management, ensuring cost-effectiveness and availability of pharmaceuticals.
- Prepare monthly operational reports identifying improvements and concerns.
- Participate in orientation, training, and hospital educational programs to maintain competency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of professional pharmacy experience with at least two years in a management role.
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred with completion of a one-year residency.
- Active unrestricted state pharmacy license, Arizona license preferred.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to pass background and drug screening.
- Experience with Scriptpro SP200 Robot and RPMS Electronic Health Record systems; familiarity with transitioning to a new EHR system is advantageous.
- ACLS and PALS certification for inpatient/ER pharmacist; PALS can be obtained onsite within the first month.
Schedule:
- 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
- Variable shift times including nights, days, swing, and weekends
