Staff Pharmacist | San Carlos, Arizona
A pharmacy position is available for experienced pharmacists with inpatient/ER and outpatient expertise in a hospital setting. This role requires versatility to work various shifts, including nights, days, swing, and weekends, averaging 4 days per week with 10-hour shifts. The assignment is based in Peridot, AZ, and suitable for travel or local candidates seeking contracts of 13+ weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily administrative pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory, and government standards.
- Develop and monitor operational and financial metrics to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Establish and evaluate pharmacy policies and procedures for service effectiveness.
- Lead continuous process improvements proactively.
- Manage and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and performance excellence.
- Optimize computer-based dispensing and information systems to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Direct purchasing and inventory controls to balance cost-effectiveness and timely pharmaceutical availability.
- Coordinate educational efforts to address staff learning needs and barriers.
- Prepare monthly operational reports identifying areas for improvement.
- Participate in orientation, training, and quality assurance programs.
- Maintain current competencies through departmental and hospital educational programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years professional pharmacy experience with at least two years in management.
- Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD with a one-year residency preferred.
- Current, active, and unrestricted pharmacy license; Arizona license preferred.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to successfully pass background and drug screening.
System Experience:
- Proficiency with Scriptpro with SP200 Robot, RPMS Electronic Health Record with transition to a new EHR system.
