Home Infusion Inpatient Staff Pharmacist - Sapulpa, OK
A pharmacy role is open for a Staff Pharmacist specializing in sterile compounding within a home infusion environment. This position operates Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, encompassing a 13-week contract-to-hire term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns while ensuring all supplies comply with legal regulations.
- Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for patients.
- Maintain confidential and precise patient records alongside pharmacy files.
- Provide thorough consultation on medication use, side effects, storage, dosage, and potential drug interactions.
- Offer patient services including smoking cessation programs, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the appropriate use and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medications following strict procedural guidelines.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
- Identify and communicate drug-related patient issues in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is mandatory.
- Valid Oklahoma pharmacy license.
- Experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
- Preferred experience in sterile compounding.
- Strong skills in patient communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
