A pharmacy role is open for a Staff Pharmacist specializing in sterile compounding within a home infusion environment. This position operates Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, encompassing a 13-week contract-to-hire term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns while ensuring all supplies comply with legal regulations.
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for patients.
  • Maintain confidential and precise patient records alongside pharmacy files.
  • Provide thorough consultation on medication use, side effects, storage, dosage, and potential drug interactions.
  • Offer patient services including smoking cessation programs, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the appropriate use and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications following strict procedural guidelines.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
  • Identify and communicate drug-related patient issues in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is mandatory.
  • Valid Oklahoma pharmacy license.
  • Experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
  • Preferred experience in sterile compounding.
  • Strong skills in patient communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
