Mail Order Staff Pharmacist - Shafter, CA

A full-time pharmacist opportunity is available in Bakersfield, CA, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend shifts. This role is ideal for California-licensed pharmacists who are experienced in retail dispensing and are interested in expanding their skill set by working within a compounding pharmacy environment.

The position involves critical responsibilities such as verifying prescriptions, supporting filling and labeling processes, communicating with healthcare providers, and counseling patients on medication usage. Pharmacists with compounding experience may also engage in sterile and non-sterile compounding activities, adhering to USP 795, 797, and 800 standards as well as state regulations. Those primarily focused on retail dispensing will have opportunities to learn and grow within this specialized area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct final verification of prescription orders ensuring accuracy and safety
• Support prescription filling, labeling, and prepackaging operations
• Maintain clear communication with healthcare providers regarding orders, clarifications, and refills
• Provide patient counseling and medication-related support
• Assist in daily pharmacy workflow and operational tasks
• For compounding roles, oversee sterile/non-sterile preparation following applicable guidelines

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active California Pharmacist license in good standing
• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
• Retail pharmacy experience preferred; compounding experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage workflow efficiently
• Availability to work full-time Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM 5:15 PM
