Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Signal Mountain, TN

An independent compounding pharmacy in Signal Mountain, TN, is seeking a Per Diem Pharmacist to provide vacation coverage and support ongoing needs. This role involves overseeing daily operations in a fast-paced environment that compounds approximately 1,000 prescriptions each day. The position requires strong supervisory skills to manage pharmacy technicians and ensure smooth workflow in the mail order eye drop department.

Location: Signal Mountain, TN (with ongoing assignments in Chattanooga, TN)

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Lunch break 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
• Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of five pharmacy technicians responsible for data entry, filling prescriptions, and managing phone inquiries
• Address any clinical or operational questions that arise during the shift
• Manage the mail order eye drop department, which ships three different post-cataract surgery eye drop formulations
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and maintain quality control

Qualifications:

• Active Tennessee Pharmacist license in good standing
• 1-2 years (or more) of pharmacist experience required
• Experience in mail order pharmacy preferred but not mandatory
• Ideal candidates include retired or semi-retired pharmacists, as well as recent reliable pharmacy graduates
