Long Term Care Pharmacist - Slippery Rock, PA

A Long Term Care Pharmacist position is available in Slippery Rock, PA for a rewarding one-month contract assignment, with the possibility of extension. This role involves supporting multiple healthcare settings including skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice, ensuring medication accuracy and safety.

Schedule/Hours:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for long-term care and hospice clients
• Inspect packaged medications including blister-packed prescriptions, sterile, and non-sterile preparations
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed
• Accurately count and document controlled substances inventory on a perpetual basis
• Check and maintain emergency medication boxes for readiness and compliance

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; long-term care experience preferred
• Proficiency with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy operating systems
• Physical ability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, possess visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
