Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist - Slippery Rock, PA

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with a passion for long-term care pharmacy services. The role focuses on accuracy, clinical knowledge, and effective communication with healthcare providers across skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify orders entered by data entry technicians for various long-term care facilities
• Inspect blister-packed medications and both sterile and non-sterile products for accuracy and quality
• Respond promptly to clinical inquiries from nursing staff, hospice nurses, and physicians
• Manage controlled substances by counting and documenting inventory in compliance with regulations
• Review emergency medication boxes to ensure proper stock and readiness

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
• Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; prior long-term care pharmacy experience preferred
• Physical ability to perform duties involving sitting, standing, fine motor skills, and visual acuity, including lifting weights up to 30 pounds

Work Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm; Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; Sunday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm

Operating Systems:

• Experience using QS1, Docutrack, and PCC preferred to efficiently manage pharmacy operations and documentation

This contract assignment located in Slippery Rock, PA, extends for one month with potential for extension based on performance and staffing needs.
