LTC Staff Pharmacist | Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania

A Long Term Care Pharmacist opportunity is available for a contract assignment in Slippery Rock, PA. This role involves providing expert pharmaceutical services to skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients, ensuring safe and effective medication use within long-term care settings.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy Hours:
  • Monday through Friday: 8 AM 6 PM
  • Saturday: 8 AM 4 PM
  • Sunday: 8 AM 3 PM

Responsibilities:

• Verify orders entered by data entry technicians for long-term care and hospice patients
• Check blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications for accuracy and safety
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions
• Count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory
• Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in good standing from the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience, preferably in long-term care
• Physical ability to sit, stand, demonstrate fine motor skills, maintain visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
• Familiarity with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems is a plus

This contract assignment spans an initial 1-month period with the potential for extension, and consideration will be given to an 8-week commitment.
